General expectations:

This class has two major objectives, first to create and maintain web pages that look professional, and second to help you expand your abilities as web designers. To do this, we will spend a lot of time in production. To help you stay on task, you will be given deadlines that if not met will significantly hurt your grade. Additionally, we will work on assignments that are centered on a specific design concept or code. While lots of work will be done as a team, those concept centered assignments are to be done individually.
Finally, while there is no computer homework in this class, information and media gathering homework necessary to make the school web page is required.
Grading:
Grading Scale |
|
A |
100 – 90 |
The grading scale in all my classes is the same and Web Design has point categories as follows:
●Classtime work: 40% ● Concept assignments: 30% ● Deadlines: 20% ● Final Exam: 10%Misuse of the computers by playing games online, and checking your email will work you through the discipline referal process in a hurry. Hacking will get you sent to an administrator immediately. If you lose your school computer priveleges in my class or in the library, you will be unable to do the work in this class and will most likely fail.
Rules:
The district has written an entire handbook of rules and I plan on following them. If you don’t have a handbook, it is posted on the school web page. Having said that, I am fully aware that most of you haven't read the handbook, so let me stress some policies that were stressed to the teachers this year.
Final Exam:
The final exam in this class is a personal web page project. You may work on this throughout the semester when other work is not pressing. If, however, you spend time on the project rather than doing assignments not yet completed, you will lose points off the top of your exam score.
