MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS ......
 
GENERAL
 
Class Elections will take place tomorrow (Friday) for your future Senior, Junior and Sophomore class officers.  All current Freshmen and Sophomores may come to Mr. Collins' classroom (E104) before school, at break, at lunch and after school tomorrow to cast their ballots.  All current Juniors that will be attending Eagle High next year will have ballots provided to you in your 2nd period class tomorrow.  It is during your 2nd period class that you will vote and your vote collected by your teacher.  Student Council will retrieve these ballots shortly thereafter.  The winners of all these elections will be announced prior to lunch tomorrow.  Good Luck to all candidates.
 
Any Freshmen interested or registered for Honors US History next year needs to attend a meeting Wednesday, May 14th.  Report by 12:20, lunch time, to E210, Mrs. Chumbley's room.  This shouldn't take long.
 
All Sophomores registered or interested in AP US History for next year, please attend a meeting at lunch, Wednesday, May 20th.  Please make sure to join us for important information. 
 
Seniors:  If you are not in a Government class this semester, come to the counselors' office to let Mrs. Van Arnem know where your final transcript will need to be sent in June.
 
It's time for the senior vs. "Senior Citizens" basketball and volleyball games.  We need seniors to sign up during lunch and break in Mr. Rhode's room S200.  The games will be May 13th.  $2 with ID and $3 without.  Many items will be raffled off and the "Manly Mustangs" will perform at half time.  Come support the graduating class of 2008.
 
Congratulations to two Eagle students that placed at state-level instrumental solo festival:  Brian Larsen on snare drum and Winnie Reynolds on flute.
 
Attention all students:  There will be a 2nd cheerleading tryout on Saturday May 10th from 4pm - 9pm.  Tryout applications are in the Main Office.
 
Hey Seniors!!!  Are you ready to party?!  The All Night Graduation Party is June 2nd, 10:00 pm to 4:00 am at the BSU Student Union.  Tickets are on sale now, in the main office and the cost is $30.00.  You also have a chance to win a $50.00 gas card.  Every Friday we will have a drawing of everyone that has purchased a ticket.  So hurry and get yours asap!!  The earlier you purchase your ticket, the more chances you have to win!!
 
Yearbook day is coming!!  All Fines need to be paid by  today, May 8th.
 
The Next AP Macro study session will take place in Mr. Collins' classroom E104 today during both  6th period and again immediately after school.  Only one week remains until both the AP Macro and AP Micro exams, so stop by.
 
The Stampede is featuring seniors going into the military.  If you are planning on going into the military, or want to go into the military, please notify Kate Lester ASAP in room S202 or you will not be featured!
 
Students:  check for your name outside the library door.  People who are listed have overdue books and/or fines and all fines need to be paid by today, Thursday, May 8th.  After May 8th, holds will be put on your yearbook.  Take care of all fines- Library, Bookbarn, Bookkeeper and Cafeteria by Thursday.
 
Teachers!  This is Jeans Week.  You can pay $2 a day to wear jeans to school.  Pay day by day or all at once to Tara Kishpaugh.  All proceeds go towards sending the Sports Med. Students to their National competition in Dallas, Texas.
 
You are invited to view the amazing Eagle High School Juried Art Show on display in our halls May 1st to May 20th.  Congratulations to Brendan McDonald who won Best in Show along with Hanna Cranny-1st Place, Dalton Purnell-2nd, Rebecca Wrede-3rd.  Also, Kristin Vieweg is the BEST artist in the Meridian School District!!  She won the District Choice Award for her watercolor and she also won the Meridian Arts Commission cash award of $150 for the Best of Show at the district art Competition.  In addition, Tyrel Bean was awarded the 3-D School Choice Award.
 
 
 SPORTS
 
TRACK:  All freshmen track members, please return uniforms to room E209, Coach Dempsey's room, or Coach Harm in the counseling office ASAP!!
 
GIRLS SOCCER:  There will be an informational meeting today, May 8th at 6:00 pm in the main gym.  If you or someone you know is interested in trying out for Varsity or JV Womens Soccer, please attend the meeting to pick up important paperwork and meet the coaching staff.  The meeting will not last long but will give you the necessary tools to be prepared for tryouts in August.  See you there.
 
VOLLEYBALL:  All girls who want to play volleyball next year, please come to a meeting in Coach Schwagers room (E212) at 12:20 today.
 
SWIM TEAM:  All swim team members invited to lunch today, May 8th, in Mrs. Jackson's room E106.  See ya there!
 
BOYS GOLF:  Congratulations to the JV Boys Golf Team.  They completed the sweep, winning their 3rd consecutive district title.  They were lead by Mike Johnson and Ty Travis who shot 77, 78.
 
GIRLS LACROSSE:  Come support the girls lacrosse team in their Senior Night against Skyview at 7:30 tonight on the turf.
 
CLUBS
 
DRAMA:  Auditions for the fall musical "Kiss me Kate", will be held May 7 and 8 after school in the choir room.  Please stop by room E101 to sign up and pick up your audition form!
 
REPUBLICAN CLUB:  There is a mandatory meeting today at lunch in E102.  There will be a SUPER SPECIAL announcement!  Be there.
 
CAREER CENTER
 
Attention all students!!  If you are interested in a summer weekend in a Marine Boot Camp, information is available in the Career Center.
 
Seniors:  It is not too late to get your scholarship information into the graduation program.  Please bring a copy of your scholarship awards to Mrs. Van Arnem in the counselors' office.
